Position
A sunny position suits them best, as long as it is not exposed to strong, cold winds.
Soil
Ranunculus grows best in well-drained, fertile soil.
Planting
Soak the tubers for at least 1 hour before planting. Plant with the claws of the tubers pointing downwards, approximately 5 cm deep and 8 cm apart in good, loose soil. Refill the planting hole and avoid walking over the soil. Plant the Ranunculus tubers one by one. Keep lightly moist until growth begins, then increase the amount of water.
Care
Plant in groups of at least 6 tubers, or divide about 20 to 30 evenly over the garden border or flower bed. Ranunculus is a lavish summer flowerer that requires little maintenance. Water more often during dry periods. During the flowering period add plant food on a regular basis when watering.
STORAGE
Give them some protection and they can be left in the ground until the following year. If you want to divide the bulbs they can be lifted after flowering, stored in a dry frost free place and planted out the following spring.
